Happy Friday World,
The brand new $2.3 BILLION MSG Sphere showcases another feat in engineering as it officially lit up for the first time last week. The structure is as tall as the Pyramids of Giza, with 580,000 sq ft of LED panels, 164,000 speakers, and the capacity to hold 18,000 people.
Although the structure will not officially open until September 29th, with U2 kicking it off, it has been shining bright all weekend, even with a special basketball design in honor of the NBA’s Summer League taking on Las Vegas.
This advertisement brings up an interesting opportunity, but it's unclear if the NBA paid for it or if it's a publicity stunt.
I think this could later be adapted for the brand new NBA In-Season Tournament, which will be hosted in December. This could also be extended to the NFL and NHL, which are also in town and would do well from some iconic advertising.
This will only become more of an icon after the Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix, some major companies may put on an amazing billboard in front of an international audience. I don’t know who that company will be, but whoever has the marketing budget for it will be able to win big!
